Yvonne Burgos, PsyD
Dr. Burgos is a clinical Psychologist who obtained her PsyD from Alliant International University. Dr. Burgos has experience working with youths involved in the juvenile justice system, families involved in child protective services, and adults who have unresolved trauma from childhood wounds. Dr. Burgos works from a trauma-informed lens and helps heals wounded parts (triggers) that may be creating problems in the person's life. Dr. Burgos also facilitates groups to help with increasing coping skills when dealing with difficult co-parents.
Dr. Burgos is the owner of Burgos Psychological Services and values reputation, meaningful work, and loyalty. Dr. Burgos demonstrates meaningful work in my work ethic, staying on top of training, and seeking consultation when needed. Dr. Burgos also supervises psychological assistants and she upholds the same expectation for them.
Dr. Burgos provides Individual Therapy in English and Spanish. Dr. Burgos is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Behavioral Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Dr. Burgos uses a trauma-informed perspective to address the core issues.
Dr. Burgos offers a co-parenting group for individuals that have a co-parent that refuses to co-parent. This group is designed to help parents learn techniques to minimize conflict and stay focus on the children.
Dr. Burgos co-facilitates a virtual consultation/support group for clinicians every other Thursday from 5:30 pm until 7pm. This is a free group for clinicians that are looking for support and professional growth. You do not require to be license to join this group. However, this group will not substitute for supervision.
